Players are reporting a serious bug with the latest DLC for Ubisoft's Assassin Creed III. The bug occurs when users download the Hidden Secrets DLC—a compilation of all the pre-order bonus levels and outfits—and erases the game's save data. Ubisoft has acknowledged the bug and is working on a fix, according to Eurogamer.
"We're able to reproduce this issue at the studio and are working on a fix/workaround," Ubisoft Montreal community Developer Gabe Graziani advised fans on the official Ubisoft forum. "From what we can tell, this problem seems to be rare and should generally only affect a very small number of players. That said, we're taking the speedy and complete resolution of this very seriously."

UbIsoft has also issued advice: "AVOIDING THIS BUG: Do not load your saved AC3 game while the DLC is downloading in the background. This appears to be the key trigger for this bug. You can do anything else you want to do, just don't load up your saved game and play it while the DLC is downloading." As of now, the DLC is only available to those who own the Assassin's Creed III season pass. It will be available to the rest of the world next week. Recently, Ubisoft had released a trailer for its upcoming compilation pack—the Assassin's Creed Anthology. The trailer touches upon the story of the series, right from the time of the Holy Crusades in Assassin's Creed and the Italian renaissance in Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood to the journey to Constantinople in Assassin's Creed: Revelations and ends at the American Revolution in Assassin's Creed III. Here are the contents of the Assassin's Creed Anthology:
The Assassin’s Creed series deals with a secret war between the Assassins and the Templars that has lasted for millennia. The Assassins seek to fight for the free will of people, while the Templars seek to control them. The first game was set during the Holy Crusades in Jerusalem. Protagonist Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad would have to jump from rooftops and sneak into groups of people in order to find and assassinate his targets. The second game was set during the Renaissance era in Florence. The main protagonist of the 'II' series of games – Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations – is Ezio Auditore. The II series of games dealt with the evolution of Ezio as a character, who starts out as a revenge-driven teenager and ends up as a highly-skilled master of Assassins. Altaïr is also featured in Revelations and the aged assassin’s last few days are shown. The secondary protagonist of the series is Desmond Miles, who is accessing his 'genetic memory' to live the lives of his ancestors Altaïr and Ezio. The latest game in the series puts you in control of Connor Kenway as you travel through the frontier and watch the American Revolution unfold. |
