Design firm selling Steve Jobs tribute MacBook Pro laptops for $12,368

Steve Jobs was an inspiration and tech icon for many, and in his honour, backlit laptop designing firm Uncover has put up three Steve Jobs tribute MacBook Pro with Retina display laptops up for sale. The MacBook Pros have the rear-illuminated Apple logo containing a silhouette of Jobs’ face. According to Uncover’s website, the computers have been crafted based on a design by Hong Kong-based artist Jonathan Mak, who came up with the original design last year. The company has put the three laptops up for auction on eBid for the quite high price of 9,500 Euros (about $12,368) each. Uncover has also laser-tattooed a quote by Jobs on the bottom of the laptop: When you grow up you, tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again. Uncover pays tribute with laser-cut MacBook Retina Pros. According to the website, Uncover will evenly split all proceeds from the auction between the charity Get It Done and a fund that it is setting up in association with SellanApp, which is dedicated to “creating iOS apps that don't have a direct business model, but have a clear societal value.” Each of the Retina-equipped tribute MacBook Pro laptops come with the best specifications available in the line, including a 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, and a 750GB SSD.  Apple has also paid tribute to its co-founder, and has posted a video on Apple.com. CEO Tim Cook has also posted a message paying tribute to Jobs: A message from Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO Steve’s passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place. One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. It’s a wonderful tribute to Steve’s memory and everything he stood for. Tim Steve Jobs passed away on October 5 at the age of 56. At that time, many authors, entrepreneurs and CEOs paid tribute to the man who revolutionised technology.  GS Choi of Samsung said, “Chairman Steve Jobs introduced numerous revolutionary changes to the information technology industry and was a great entrepreneur. His innovative spirit and remarkable accomplishments will forever be remembered by people around the world.” Mark Zuckerberg said, “Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. I will miss you.” Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, also shared a few words, “I want to express my deepest condolences at the passing of Steve Jobs, one of the founders of our industry and a true visionary. My heart goes out to his family, everyone at Apple and everyone who has been touched by his work.” After Jobs' death, Apple held a private memorial for him. It was an employees-only event, and was held in an outdoor amphitheatre at its headquarters in Cupertino. Reportedly, the memorial was attended by former American Vice President and Apple board member, Al Gore, Norah Jones and Coldplay performed at the event. During the service closure, Chris Martin, frontman for Coldplay told everyone to get back to work because that's what Steve himself would have wanted.
